When to call
Signs you may need furnace repair
A single symptom does not always identify a failed part. These common warning signs are a good reason to have the equipment checked:
- The furnace will not start
- The burner starts and stops repeatedly
- You hear new banging, rattling, or squealing
- Air is moving but the home is not warming
Turn equipment off and seek prompt help if you smell gas, see smoke or sparking, find significant leaking near electrical parts, or suspect unsafe combustion. For a gas odor or immediate danger, leave the area and contact the gas utility or emergency services first.
