When to call
Signs you may need water heater repair
A single symptom does not always identify a failed part. These common warning signs are a good reason to have the equipment checked:
- No hot water or water that turns cold quickly
- Water is too hot or not hot enough
- Popping or rumbling from the tank
- Moisture or leaking around the unit
Turn equipment off and seek prompt help if you smell gas, see smoke or sparking, find significant leaking near electrical parts, or suspect unsafe combustion. For a gas odor or immediate danger, leave the area and contact the gas utility or emergency services first.
